The Monroe County Historical Museum, Eby Log House, Navarre-Anderson Trading Post at River Raisin Territorial Park, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Museum announce their summer hours for 2014.
The Monroe County Historical Museum, located at 126 South Monroe Street in Monroe, Michigan will be open daily now through the end of September. The museum will be open 12 pm to 5 pm on Sundays; 11 am to 5 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; and on Thursdays from 11 am to 7 pm. (Fall/Winter schedule resumes October 1st.)
Fairgoers are encouraged to make their annual visit to the Eby Log House, lo-cated on the grounds of the Monroe County Fair and open during Fair Week, July 27th through August 2nd.
2014 sees the return of regular hours of operation for the Navarre-Anderson Trading Post at River Raisin Territorial Park, located at 3775 North Custer Road. On Fridays and Saturdays from 12 pm to 5 pm now through the end of Au-gust, visitors can stop by to tour one of the oldest wooden buildings in Michigan and grab a treat from the Martha Barker Country Store exhibit in Papermill School. The grounds of River Raisin Territorial Park are open year round; inter-pretative signage is available on-site and brochures are located at the entrance of Papermill School.
Located at Heck Park on North Dixie Highway is the Vietnam Veterans Memo-rial and Museum which tells the stories of Monroe County’s men and women during one of America’s longest military conflicts. The grounds are open year round and the museum is open Wednesdays and Saturdays through the end of September from 12 pm to 4 pm.
The Monroe County Historical Museum and sites are owned and operated by the County of Monroe, Michigan, governed by the Monroe County Board of Commissioners, and millage funded.
