The energy is palpable at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts (RRCA), Monroe County’s performing arts center located in the heart of historic downtown Monroe, Mich. More than 700 children and adults each week take lessons from degreed RRCA staff in dance, dramatics, vocal music, piano, percussion as well as string and wind instrumental music.
Now, you, too, can be a part of the energy. Gather your family and head to the River Raisin Centre’s open house on Tuesday, Aug. 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to tour the arts campus, meet the instructors, and learn about performance opportunities too. Enjoy free live performances on stage of singers, dancers and musicians.
“This night highlights all our arts education programs together,” said RRCA Executive Director Mike Trapp. “It will be especially helpful for families where several members, at varying ability levels, can explore diverse performing arts interests.”
The RRCA offers classes and private lessons — ages three through 103 — for the absolute beginner to advance, college-prep and pre-professional in vocal music, creative dramatics, piano, percussion, wind instruments, all string instruments, and a variety of dance disciplines, including tap, jazz, ballroom, modern as well as ballet taught under the influential and disciplined Enrico Checcetti instructional method
