United Way hosted a check presentation by DTE Energy Employees at their August Board of Directors’ meeting. DTE Energy employees from the Monroe Power Plant raised over $1700.00 to offer help and support for local non-profits and the family of Chelsea Little.
A check for $440 was presented to the family of Chelsea Little, who died in a tragic accident in April of 2014. These funds were raised at a Faith and Hope Fundraiser painting party for the survivors of the Motorcycle accident. The fundraiser was the accomplishment of members of the DTE Monroe Area Task Force April Kassuba, Marsha Wilson, Madonna Burkit and Pete Burkit.
The other organizations presented with checks were Gabby’s Ladder and Paula’s House. The DTE Employees held gate collections from the Monroe Power Plant employees along with contracted employees on site. Gabby’s Ladder received $625 and Paul’s house received a check for $675.
