A Time of Bones and Ash
The Monroe County Historical Museum will present its 2013 Lantern Tours on October 18th, 19th, 25th, and 26th at the Navarre-Anderson Trading Post located on North Custer Road in Monroe, Michigan. Tours begin at 7.30 pm, 7.50 pm, 8.10 pm, and 8.30 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youths and are available by pre-sale only beginning Tuesday, October 1st at the Monroe County Historical Museum.
Travellers during this year’s Lantern Tours will be going back two hundred years to 1813 and will join Col. John Anderson and his fellow refugees as they travel from Ohio to their homes along the River Raisin. Along the way they’ll hear the news of Perry’s victory over the British at the Battle of Lake Erie, join Col. Johnson and his Kentucky soldiers as they head to fight the British, discover the tensions of living in a warzone, hear of the devastation to the settlements of the River Raisin region, and be reunited with long separated friends and family.
