The Nutcracker, which is being generously sponsored by Agua Dulce, is a spectacle that both children and adults of all ages will cherish forever. The show will take place on December 7th at 2 pm and 7 pm and December 8th at 3 pm. Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and $12 for students and children. The RRB’s two act Nutcracker is directed and choreographed by RRB director Gail Choate-Pettit and assistant company director Melissa Moore. They are joined by dancers from Monroe County and surrounding areas, Costume Mistress extraordinaire Dyanne Howland, Josh Mohler debuting as Drosselmeyer and Mother Ginger and Tim Lewandowski debuting as Father Ginger. To add to the onstage delight of holiday viewers, the RRCA lobby will be transformed into the land of sweets for each performance with decorations, merchandise, baked goods and beverages.
The RRB dancers will be joined by two principal soloists, Lindsay Navarre and Daniel Davenport. Lindsay Navarre received her ballet training at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts under the direction of Gail Choate-Pettit and Melissa Moore. She has spent her summers receiving additional training at the Cecchetti International Summer School at Hope College, The Grand Rapids Ballet and The Boston Ballet. Lindsay has danced lead roles in many RRB productions including Wizard of Oz: The Ballet, Alice in Wonderland: The Ballet, Peter Pan: The Ballet, and more.
