Superintendent Scott J. Bentley announced that River Raisin National Battlefield Park will be hosting Panoka Walker on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11 a.m.
Join Panoka for traditional Native-American storytelling and games. Children will delight in the mesmerizing tales and games all the while learning about the traditional Native-American ways.
Panoka Walker is of mixed Anishinabe descent from the Deer Clan; her traditional name is Waa-bskaa Waa-waash-keshi, White Doe. Panoka strongly identifies with her Native-American roots as a traditional storyteller and song carrier, as well as crafts.
