Superintendent Scott J. Bentley announced that River Raisin National Battlefield Park will be hosting Remember the Raisin Art Extravaganza, a revolving art exhibit, to be unveiled on Saturday, August 10, at an Open House starting at 10am with refreshments. The exhibit will run through Labor Day, September 2nd. The art exhibition will feature new 2013 Bicentennial art works as well as those from previous Bicentennial art contests.
Gorgeous pieces from local artists in the mediums of paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photos, etc…featuring early Frenchtown themes and the Battle of the River Raisin will be on exhibit.
Artist Brad Schreiber will be on hand during the exhibition on Saturday, August 24 at 1pm to instruct students on how to draw park mascot Major Muskrat, who has volunteered to pose for the event!
