Let me start this article with a completely clear and to-the-point statement…If you a man willingly commit bodily injury to a woman or child with forethought or reaction, you are a douche-bag low-life and should be punished under the rule of law. You should be given jurisprudence, as all Americans, but if you are convicted, you should suffer the consequences.
To the other side of the page, it is time to stop convicting the accused in the media and the court of public appeal before they are duly tried. It is the same principle Amnesty International platforms themselves on, the same stance by those who oppose capital punishment. We, the people, who steel ourselves against the possibility of tyrannical government, also make ready and charge offensively against the media for the same reason, to fight tyranny. Our media “outlets” have run amuck and have gone unchecked for far too long. They constantly rail against the current legal system, a legal system they hide behind to protect themselves from prosecution.
To follow up, why are we looking to convict those not associated with the crime? Roger Goodell did not knock Ray Rice’s fiancé out? He was not in the elevator, he was not even in Atlantic City, so why is he being called out? Did he make a mistake by not leveling a longer suspension for Ray Rice? Sure! Rice had to physically remove the woman from the elevator as she was knocked out cold. What was Goodell waiting for? Video evidence that that Rice hit this woman? She was unconscious, what the Hell did Goodell think happened in the elevator. Ray even told you he hit her. Case closed, next issue! Suspend him and suspend him harshly. There was no reason to cover that up…that is NOT protecting the shield. But, Goodell isn’t encouraging players to hit their women is he? SO he didn’t hit Rice’s fiancé, he didn’t advocate the beating of the woman. So what is he covering up, is he really covering up and if so…why?
According to the judicial system, Rice has surrendered, been arrested, admitted guilt, and was sentenced to a program for help outside of the court system. He completed his court-assigned classes. Michael Vick has also been convicted of a crime, animal cruelty, and went to prison for it. Why are these men now being targeted? They have served their sentences and are free to move on. Rice has a long road ahead as he is not allowed contact with any NFL official, is indefinitely suspended and no longer part of the Baltimore Ravens. Vick is out of prison, performed his community service and is a back-up in New York with the Jets. He also felt the sting of media and public scrutiny. He did his time, leave him alone.
We want to give second chances out like they have lost favor, but when it involves woman, children or pets, it’s another story altogether. The media stirs and calls for immediate action without due process. It frightens me how many people feel so strongly about these events they are willing to step over the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to do it! And yet, we have outside sources looking for ways to willingly decimate the people of this country, simply because we are Americans. It’s time to wake up and realize we have allowed our government to run off the rails with the media at the stick. I hope we don’t wake up one morning to the smell of alien revolution…
