At a rally for climate change in New York City, a group of concerned citizens gathered to protest the current state of ecology, pollution, governmental influence and the lack of effective policy already passed. They stand on the platform that all living things hold the same level of importance in the ecological balance on earth; that the U.S. has not done its part as reported; that the government should cease to exist as it currently resides; the our population in the U.S. should be managed and that China is the role model for all the world.
These kooks feel that plants (trees on large scale) and animals bear the same level of importance as humans. To this, we look at the responsibilities of plants and animals in the decision making process of living, being, and operating on a daily basis. Should flora and fauna be considered, of course1 Should they be on equal footing with humankind? Absolutely not. They cannot make life altering or managing decisions for billions of people, animals are restricted to their individual needs, food, water, shelter and procreation. Plants don’t even have these abilities. We must make decisions to care for them all.
The governmental report, that through regulation, the U.S has reduced its carbon footprint by somewhere between 15 and 20 percent. This does not sit well with these people. Now, beings it is a governmental report, I have my doubts as well, but according to their messiah, Al Gore, it has happened (through his oversight, of course). We have been battling this for over 20 years, I would say we are most likely pretty close to that figure. Is there more to do, surely, there is.
According to a few of these rally-goers, The government is so bad that they would be in favor of voting out capitalism completely, removing the republic structure and denounce democracy…wait for it…in favor of…wait for it…Socialism AND have China take over the reins and run our country as they run theirs. This would mean widespread human rights violations, unprecedented pollution and population control. Yes they feel that China is a better run government, country and economic system than the republic of the United States. I’m not sure what kind of dry powder soft drink mix they people are ingesting, but I’m hoping it was prepared by Jim Jones.
Please Google “The People’s Climate March” online to witness to spectacle yourself. Please also note, most of these folks are not from New York and had to increase their personal carbon foot print by flying into New York on jet airplanes. Ironic? Not sure that is the appropriate association for this group.
