Mercy Memorial Cancer Connection presents the 8th Annual Motorcycle Ride. The ride begins and ends at the Monroe County Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 7. Registration is from 9 to 10:45 a.m. and the ride begins at 11 a.m. At approximately 12:30 p.m. riders will arrive back at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. The cost/donation is $20 per bike and $5 per additional passenger.
There will be music, refreshments, raffles and t-shirts (we can only guarantee a t-shirt size for those who register by May 27). Pre-register by calling (734) 240-5400.
All proceeds stay local and benefit Mercy Memorial Cancer Connection. Mercy Memorial Cancer Connection, located in the Monroe Cancer Center, 800 Stewart Road, Monroe, is a non-profit organization helping cancer patients in Monroe County. This unique organization offers free assistance, including: transportation within a 50-mile radius to cancer treatment-related appointments; discounted and free nutritional supplements; medical supplies and equipment such as shower chairs or wheelchairs, wigs and head coverings, resource referrals and support groups.
The event sponsors are: United Way of Monroe County, Mercy Memorial Hospital System, Elite Motor Mall of Monroe, Dr. Irving Hwang and Monroe Motor Sport. The ride is supported by Local Christian Bikers.
Every year, through the efforts of a dedicated volunteer group, this organization provides non-medical assistance to hundreds of cancer patients who need it most, both during and after their treatments.
